The Lodges at Gettysburg

“Can’t recommend this enough!
Going into it with my thoughts and
left it with His thoughts!
Forever changed!”
~ an attendee from 2016 retreat

“This was amazing today, 30+ ladies. We weren’t focused on things like race, denomination, job status, marital status or who we were voting for. We were focused on one thing, Him, God our father, the only thing that truly matters. Thank you, Karen, for helping me get back to the feet of Jesus. And thank you God for loving me enough to hand pick me to be here.”

~an attendee from 2016 retreat

This weekend was so much more than a ladies getaway. It was a knitting together of 30+ ladies together that would never have crossed paths otherwise.
It was a glimpse of God’s glory and what can happen when we let Him totally lead us, obeying even when we are fearful, and how it looks when women come together for no other purpose but to seek Him.
It didn’t matter where we came from or what we’ve been through….nothing mattered, but Jesus.

This year our theme will be ‘Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus.” We will learn how to stay focused on Him in this world that is constantly looking to distract us.

At the Simply Living for Him Retreat you will:

  • Spend time with other women tired of what this world offers, and want what He offers
  • Get away from the everyday distractions of life and connect with the Lord in a gorgeous setting
  • Learn about living more simply in a complicated world
  • Learn about ways to reduce clutter-both physical and mental
  • Dig into the Word together
  • Worship with other ladies
  • Pray with other ladies
  • Spend time in quiet and rest
  • Fellowship

Included in Your ticket:

  • All retreat sessions, optional sessions, and other group times
  • Worship and prayer times- Robin Miller will be leading us again!
  • An evening by the bonfire
  • Some meals (all lodging at The Lodges provide kitchenettes for other meals) and snacks are provided throughout the retreat.

Retreat runs from Thursday evening until Saturday morningThere will be MANY more details added in the months to come!

LODGING IS NOT INCLUDED- Lodges will be opening up soon with a DISCOUNT for all attendees! *We will let you know when the room blocks open up. Lodging for 2-8 people per lodge will range in cost from $135 per night (2 person lodge) up to $295 (8 person lodge). Splitting larger lodges with more women is the most affordable option. Splitting the cost means you will pay approx.$75 up to $135 total for the weekend for lodging.  The lodges are gorgeous and in our experience, we have loved each one we have stayed in.

There are also plenty of lodging options nearby in Gettysburg for all budgets. You do not have to stay onsite at The Lodges to enjoy the retreat. Some women chose to stay offsite last year and joined us for the retreat only. It is entirely up to you!*Please note the retreat is for women only. All ages welcome (older teens) and this is not just for homeschoolers, moms, or otherwise. All women in all seasons of life are welcome- the only thing you need is a heart seeking Jesus!

As an attendee from last year, it was an encouraging balm and at the same time an iron sharpening to my soul. I was so thankful for Karen’s complete openness and her deep desire to see Women focusing on, serving, and walking with God alone. I was so encouraged in my walk with Christ, and I am praying that I get the opportunity to attend again! Such A Blessing!!!

This sounds amazing! I attended Apologia’s retreat several years ago in Atlanta when it used to be separate from TTD and it was EXACTLY what I needed. Hopefully, I can work things out to be able to go to this! It’s quite a trip away from Georgia!

  • Reply Kimberly Selders December 22, 2016 at 3:26 pm

I have never been to a retreat before and I’m an introvert so the thought of going really makes me want to throw a blanket over my head and hide. But, I love Karen’s blog and podcasts and I just ordered all her books on amazon and I can’t get enough. I feel like God is trying to tell me to listen to what she says and learn everything I can from her. So the thought of spending a weekend with a bunch of like minded women sounds like a great weekend to me. I think I would most enjoy all the new wisdom I would gain.

    • Reply Karen DeBeus December 23, 2016 at 12:06 am

Kimberly, This just made me tear up! I am the same way believe it or not!! I could never imagine going alone, and there were some ladies last year that did just that! I am by nature introverted, which makes it even crazier that God has put me on this path. I did NOT think I could do the retreat last year, and truth is, I DIDN’T— he did! He orchestrated every detail while I merely obeyed.
I would love for you to join us in 2017 – a bunch of like minded women coming together is like a glimpse of heaven!
