Today is one of my favorite days out of the whole year. For starters, I love Spring. It is my favorite season.  It is a beautiful time of growth. It is also the anniversary of the day that I met my husband.

Today marks 16 years since I met my love.  It was only fitting to meet on the first day of Spring.

Let me explain:

I was at a dark place when I met him, yet I was beginning to seek God at the time.  And God knew exactly what I needed. He sent my husband into my life right when I needed it.

Soon into our marriage I would be reborn. God woke me up and plucked me out of the darkness to live in His Light.

Spring is a time of rebirth.  All of the dead winter and darkness wakes up again and springs forth, bursting with new life.  The trees are budding, the flowers are blooming, and the sun is warming the earth.  It is the most lovely time of year.

There is so much to do in Spring that involves only the simple-being outside and in His creation.
Run with your kids, jump in the puddles, lay in the grass, turn over rocks, wade in a stream, take a hike!

We did this amazing activity last week, as an illustration of His handiwork.

It is a picture of what God does with us.  We once lived in death and darkness.  Yet when we have Jesus in our heart, we are made new. We are born again from death into life, eternally.

Look around this Spring. See Him in nature. See Him in action. See what He does. He gives those trees, those flowers, and those plants new life.

Just like He did for me 16 years ago.

Happy First Day of Spring!

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
