Simply...Living For Him

A Request for Prayer…And Praising Him

After seeing devastation all round my area from Hurricane Irene, I can’t help but feel abundantly blessed.  After spending a night camped out together in the living room, we were relatively unscathed.

However, it is a hard feeling to have all of your life continue as usual, when so many are suffering.  Does that make them any less blessed?
No.

They prayed just as I did.

But God answered differently.

And at some point it will balance out.  Things here will be going wrong, where elsewhere they are “normal.”

It’s the way life works.

Hard concepts to grasp.

But all part of God’s plans.
Refining us.

But in light of all this devastation, I am thankful for the big things- a home with no flooding, power still on, etc.

And thankful even more for the simple things:

a baby boy who sings himself, happily, to sleep every night

a son who uses his drawing ability to make pictures, just for me

a husband who every single morning, no matter what, bring my coffee in bed

cool grass under my feet at night

a comfy cozy bed to melt into at the end of the day

a daughter’s smile

the lovely sound of silence in the morning-the stillness of the morning

a little boy who brushes mommy’s hair

the way the baby says, “Kitttthhhhh” instead of “kiss”

ahhh….yes. it is the simplest things I am most thankful for…

Please join me in praising God for the simple things each day.  He desires our praises in ALL.
And please join me in lifting up every single person who is suffering from the devastation that Hurricane Irene brought.  Please share this post on facebook, your blog, twitter…wherever..let’s make a huge prayer chain for those suffering.

Naked I came from my mother’s womb,
and naked I will depart.c
The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away;
may the name of the LORD be praised.
Job 1:21-22
