This world today will tell you- YOU are powerful! YOU can do anything! YOU can make your destiny! YOU are great! The list goes on and on.

While the intentions behind positive affirmations are good, there is no power in and of ourselves. We are powerless apart from HIM.

Acts 1:8 says we will receive power from the Holy Spirit. His Spirit works in us and through us. Apart from Him, we are nothing (John 15:5)

A few months back, I taught at a women’s event and we focused on this very thing. Our identity apart from Him is nothing. When we are letting the Spirit work through us, we are living as we were created to be.

I handed out this list of “positive affirmations” that weren’t the typical ones you will see these days, but this list is backed by the power of the Truth– God’s Word. Of we focus daily on WHO HE IS, we will be focused on the source of anything good or powerful in us.
