Mission Homeschool!

None of us start on this journey expecting it to be easy. No one is equipped for this journey. I know so many people say they could never homeschool because they are not patient enough, or disciplined enough, or that they could never teach their own children.

Yet look at a missionary. Do they jump in saying, “Oh yes I can go into the jungle, put myself in danger, and leave everything behind. This will be easy!”

God gives them faith and God supplies them with all they need to complete the task.

Our kids are our #1 mission field. They are the very first people God puts in our path to make disciples. He commands us to go and make disciples. It is not optional. And our kids are the very first people we are responsible to fulfill that command with.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son
and of the Holy Spirit,”
Matthew 28:19

Seeing our kids as our ministry first is so important. If we don’t pour into them first,  then we have not obeyed our first mission.  We must disciple them and minister to their needs above all.

So when you feel you don’t have the strength to homeschool, remember those missionaries in the jungle. No one has the strength to do anything they are called to do. That is why we rely on God. Fully. For all of our needs.

“He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep
to gain what he cannot lose.”
Jim Elliot
