We’re in the home stretch. We are winding down our school year. It is May! My favorite month! We have had a great school year, definitely our best homeschool year so far. We have gotten lots done, and I feel like we have learned so much.
Last week I helped a friend test her kids on the Stanford Test. I didn’t have mine take it, I figured I know where they are at, and it was expensive. However, I did have Grace “take it” alongside for “fun.” When I went through it just to see what Grace missed and what she did well on, I was delighted to see she got almost every answer correct. The only section where she didn’t do as well, was spelling. Yet, that was expected. Spelling has always been her hardest subject. The test was a breeze for her…
So it was just another confirmation from God telling me that she is doing fine. My main goal in this whole process is of course to have the kids educated and love learning, however my priority is character training and raising up kids into mature young adults, who are independent thinkers, and who love the Lord above all.
So as we begin this month, I look forward to finishing strong, and keeping my eye on the goal. I am reminded of what it says is Hebrews:
“Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.” Hebrews 12:1-3
