Well we have two weeks complete of homeschool so far, and I am delighted that it is going so smoothly. Each day has gone incredibly well, and I am so grateful.
I think so much of it has to do with me relaxing a bit about everything. Each morning the kids have spent extra time on our Bible/devotions…and I am letting them take their time. Duh! If I want them to spend any extra time, it is there. I must say because our mornings have started with the Lord, and focusing on Him, as well as praying together, our days have gone exceptionally smooth. I don’t stress about “getting it all done” as far as work, because it does end up getting all done. I don’t stress over the time on the clock, thinking, “How will we finish everything I have planned?” I let each day come, and gently prod when I think it is going a little slow, but am careful not to “push” the kids when they are spending alot of time on something. In the end, it makes all the difference. I am not worrying about what “has” to get done, but being more in the moment, and guess what? It STILL all gets done!
Thank you Lord for teaching me these lessons. You are teaching me as much as I am teaching the children! I love that I get to spend each day with them and we enjoy each other…most of the time… I won’t lie and say it’s always roses…there is lots of bickering in there as well 🙂 But, we are learning to deal with the bickering, foster relationships, and live for Christ at the same time. For that, I am grateful!
