I am teaching Ethan (just turned 3) his letters. Lately, I have noticed he is recognizing letters he sees and pointing them out. I also realized he will take anything around-sticks, batteries(!), his light bright, crayons, lego pieces, etc. and make letters. He will take the crayons and line them up to make an “A’ or an “E.”
So, for his school work today I took out a large poster of the alphabet and gave him a stack of colorful craft sticks. I told him to copy as many letters as he could with the craft sticks.
He really loved this activity and it will help him memorize his letters.
Simple hands on activity, using something he was already doing. Easy way to tailor an activity to his own learning style.
