The week between Christmas and New Year’s- Everyone is searching and planning and plotting how this new year will be different.
Scrolling through the Internet world it seems everyone is on a quest for better next year.
This year I will be more organized…
This year I will be more disciplined…
This year I will find peace and order…
This year I will finally get it together…
All of humankind has been on a quest since the beginning of time…
So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.
Genesis 3:6
What if we stopped the endless cycle. What if we stopped seeking out something we have already?
I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.
John 10:10
You see, Pinterest and Facebook and all those endless articles are only feeding our desires to build our little kingdoms. The focus is on YOU YOU YOU and what YOU can do to improve your life.
What if instead of building our own kingdom we sought after our one true purpose.
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen
Matthew 28:19-20
Building His.
We don’t have to continue the endless search for more productivity and more efficiency and a better life.
And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:19
The externals- the perfect planner, the perfect system, the perfect home…are just that. Externals.
What if we just sat with our Bible, alone in the quiet, and the the Lord speak to us.
and you are complete in Him…
Colossians 2:10
What if we let Him guide us?
What if stopped the quest for more and settled into what He has provided already?
The world will never stop searching and seeking- because all of us has eternity set in our hearts…But some will never find, so they continue to search. But you, dear one, you have all that you need in Christ.
So walk in it….stop the endless search for more efficiency, more productivity, and the notion that you need a better system to do things. You already have it.
Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him…
Colossians 2:6
