I am taking a much needed mental health break from the internet, facebook, etc. I want to spend much more time focused on prayer, Bible, and my kids during the summer.
Although I do still plan on writing, we will see where the Lord leads with this blog….
Today I spent putting away most of our school stuff from this year and I have filled the kids file boxes with some summer work for the days that allow us to get in some school.
These are my plans for the summer:
All kids will continue with Math at least a few times per week. Grace is absolutely LOVING Life of Fred.
Journal- Each child has a journal they are to write in daily. They can write about whatever they want, but they must WRITE.
SpellCity– Online spelling. I have set up folders on my computer for each child with the bookmarked pages that they can play as often as they like through summer.
Reading Lists-Grace is starting with Beautiful Girlhood. Luke will read Little Pear, Mr. Popper’s Penguins, and the BoxCar Children. John is continuing to read to me various books.
Polished Cornerstones- Grace will continue this Bible study/character curriculum.
Otherwise we plan on doing lots of field trips, nature, gardening, and playing! Swimming at our church pool, roasting marshmallows at night, church camp, drama camp, kickball games in the backyard, and lots of unplanned days!
Welcome Summer!
