I have found the most simple and delicious recipe for homemade bread. My family loves it, and since we go through so much bread, I buy a 25 lb. bag of bread flour from Sam’s Club (for a little over $6~ A 5 lb. bag costs about $3 in the grocery store!) I also purchase the yeast there which about 80-90% cheaper than the grocery store!
I make the dough in my bread maker, but bake it in the oven
Here is the recipe:
1 cup water
2 Tbsp. sugar
2 Tbsp. oil
1 1/2 tsp. salt
3 cups bread flour
2 1/4 tsp. yeast
Just put the ingredients (in order) in the bread maker and set to “dough” cycle. It takes 1.5 hours on my machine. Then I transfer the dough into a bread pan (greased) and bake at 350 for about 30-40 min., until the top is nice and brown.
Enjoy the delicious smell and yummy taste of homemade bread…it takes us back to a simpler time…
