Well after a very busy week last week, and a trip to Philadelphia, we are back into the swing of things and a more normal school schedule. Today during science we had the fun project of making clouds! The kids loved this activity!
We are studying Neptune right now, and have talked about the gaseous planets and how there are many storms and clouds on these planets. So after our lesson we filled a glass jar halfway with hot water. Then we lit a match and quick dropped it in the water, and then covered the jar with a bag of ice. Slowly, we started to see vapor rise up in the jar and a “cloud” formed. It was really cool! We actually repeated it three times because the kids had so much fun watching the cloud form. They even liked when I removed the bag of ice, and they would try to “catch” the cloud as the vapor escaped the jar…
This whole thing reminds me of James 4:14 which says, “Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away.”
It also reminds me of this Casting Crowns’ song “Who Am I”
