We are officially on Christmas break. Today we just finished up some loose ends. We read from a book called “Thunder from the Clear Sky” by Marcia Sewall. A great book that tells of the tension that grew between the Pilgrims and Indians as the years went on. It covers the years from 1620-1675 and has both Indians narrating and Pilgrims. We compared and contrasted the different perspectives. Then Grace read on her own “Finding Providence” and gave me an oral narration. Luke read one of the “Nate, The Great,” detective books to me. We also have been studying George Frideric Handel, and read a great book about him today entitled, “Handel, the Boy Who Knew What He Liked” by MT Anderson. We have listened to parts of Handel’s Messiah this month so reading this story was really great. We listed to The Hallelujia Chorus again afterwards. Breathtaking!
I am looking forward to the break, and then starting anew in January. That month we will plan to get lots done since it is usually a month that is cold and dark, so that means lots of time at home.
Right now I am excited for the Christmas holiday and reflecting on how important the greatest Gift is to me…Jesus Christ and His birth. He changed my life and for that, I am grateful.
Here are some highlights from this past month…
