Simply Go!

For a while now I have been feeling a nudge to be much more active in my everyday life with everyday people in sharing the Gospel. Many of us think of missions and think it’s for folks in a faraway land, a third-world country, somewhere beyond where we can physically go at the moment.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20 ESV

Jesus commanded all believers to make disciples. He didn’t say it was an option. It is for all believers in Christ.

This past year our world became darker and darker. It has become more evident than ever there is great evil prevalent in our world. Now, more than ever, we must be diligent to not only know the Word for ourselves but then to share that with a world in need. If 2020 taught me anything, it is that this world needs Jesus.

Love Neighbor

I have been ministering to women for over a decade. First, it was to homeschoolers, and then my ministry expanded to all women. My message has been one of lessening distractions and clutter in our lives and anything that takes our focus off of Jesus. And in 2020, I began the Simply Living for Him Online Women’s Community. This ministry has allowed me to lead women in Bible study and provide a place to encourage women in the Lord and help them to grow in the Word. And together, we as women, are doing just that. It has been a beautiful thing to watch it all unfold.

And yet, as I have been ministering to these women, I can’t help but think that we don’t grow in the Lord so that we just “better” ourselves! I want women to grow in the Lord so that they will naturally reflect the light of Christ into a dark world. The more women are walking with Jesus, the more people in their lives will see Him.

Yet, sometimes moms, housewives, and “ordinary” women may feel like they don’t have the ability to fulfill a missional calling. But the good news is, you certainly can and you don’t have to leave your home! You can be missional on your computer, when you pick up the phone, or over the fence to your neighbor. You can be missional on your front porch. You can be missional in the grocery store. You can be missional at your kitchen table.

You see, our first and foremost mission is to our families and those around us. And then to our communities. And then beyond. We can find ways to build relationships with people in our everyday lives, and when we do that, people will get to know us, and in turn, they will get to know Jesus. Because if we are walking with Him, they will see Him!

When you truly understand God’s love, you can’t help but give God’s love.

So, today, I introduce you to a new addition of the Simply Living for Him ministry- Simply Go! Here we will share ideas to reflect Jesus in your everyday life. We will provide encouragement and point you to resources. We will remind each other that we are building the Kingdom of God, not earthly kingdoms for ourselves. If you want to change the world, turn off the news, and go love your neighbor.

Make sure to subscribe to our newsletter and follow me on my social media platforms to stay up to date! If social media isn’t your thing these days, come on over to the Simply Living for Him Community- we have our very own platform (we even have an app!) and it is completely FREE!
