Our culture is addicted to busyness. We love to run around busy and declare to everyone we see, “I’m SO busy! I have no time. I wish there were more hours in the day.”
You know what? God created 24 hours in each day, and He knew what He was doing. He didn’t give us any more than that, so we have just what we need.
It’s not that we don’t have enough time in each day. It is how we spend our time.
Are you yearning for more hours in the day? Instead of fighting what God has given you, evaluate how you are using the time that He has given.
Are you on the Internet longer than necessary? Watching TV? Reading books that aren’t really adding to your life? Shopping? Crafting?
Not that any of these things are bad in and of themselves, but are they a good use of the time God has given?
God created each day with 24 hours. No more, no less. How are you going to use what He has given you?
Self-control is a fruit of the spirit and we need to control our time wisely.
One of the reasons I love simplifying is because it helps me to focus on what is most important and it helps me to practice self-control. Instead of focusing on how I always feel short on time because I am filling up my days with endless clutter, I know that God has given me a certain amount of time to use well.
God didn’t make a mistake when he gave us 24 hours. So let’s not fight against what He has given us, but spend each moment wisely.
