Spring is springing around Love’s Farm and we have been busy. Steve completed a very large greenhouse and I am in awe of how this man can do anything!!
Here are some snapshots of the process:
He is hopeful that he can expand our growing season here. After all, our mission with our gardens is to share in our abundance. We are using Love’s Farm as a ministry to share not only our food but God’s love in the process. Because nothing we have is really ours…it all comes from the Lord. Follow along on our journey here.
A bit of sad news here too. We have lost several animals this week. My beloved Daisy the duck seems to have been taken by a predator and our last guinea hens as well. Many of you will remember my photos and videos of these crazy birds on my deck all winter knocking on my door with their beaks! They were also known to peek in my front windows and come to the front door as well. If they could, I am sure they would have found a way to ring the doorbell. Oh, how I will miss these birds, as crazy as they made me!
I had just posted this picture of Daisy on Friday. <3
We are definitely going to get more ducks and guineas…we are also looking into getting a goat! My 8-year-old is an animal lover and aspires to be a farm vet one day. We thought the 4H would be perfect for him next year, so we are looking into this for him. He’d love to raise a goat, so we will see. As you know, this is all new to us! Please contact me or comment below with any and all advice! 😉
We are also winding up the school year and it feels great finally be so close to summer (my very favorite time of the year- bring on the hazy, hot and humid days!)
