I am the WORST Homeschool Mom Ever…and Other Lies I’ve Told Myself

Today I am discussing the lies homeschooling moms often tell themselves and counteracting them with truths from scripture.

Over the years I have had many negative thoughts and lies fill my mind, but have learned to rely on God and His strength. I have learned to put my confidence in Christ and not in myself.

Join me today and listen in as I share the many lies I have told myself over the years…

Thank you for this. Im in my first year homeschooling, a 3rd grader. We have floundered this year, Ive researched WAY more than Ive prayed and asked for guidance on how to go about this.
Now Im trying to focus on what my son needs spiritually, character training, what his gifts are and where God is calling me to support him. Ive spent months comparing our homeschool to others, trying to be something we arent.
Im stepping back and praying about what he needs, what God is trying to teach ME through teaching him, as I plan how we will finish out our year.
Im struggling with feeling like im failing him, we are only halfway through the math and lang arts curriculum we finally settled on after Christmas. Now we need to school year round, through the summer to “catch up”:(

Aubery, I have been there and so have many others. Take a deep breath. Seek the Lord. Just keep going with the curriculum and he will catch up. It is good to realize where you need to fix things! It’s a journey and a learning experience. Lots of lessons to be learned besides academic! Blessings to you.
