By the time you are reading this, I pray you have already set your mind on things above. Last week, I kicked off a new challenge for this month– Set no words before your eyes, until you have set His Word before your eyes. If you haven’t seen the posts, click here!
So how are you doing? I am so excited to have us ALL encourage each other in this. Perhaps you need the discipline to get in the Word first each day. Or maybe you have no trouble with this, but you can be an encouragement or accountability partner to someone else who may need it. Wherever you are in your walk, the most important thing for all of us to constantly seek Him in all things.
This morning, my Bible reading brought me to Hebrews. What I really love about my early time with the Lord was after my reading, I just laid in my bed praying for awhile. I didn’t feel the need to be “rushed” through. This has come a long way from the days (and I still stumble many times) of reading and still feeling the need to “rush” through so I could get to other things.
I love sitting at Jesus’ feet. There is no place I’d rather be. When the things of this world tug at me, He makes known to me what is most important.
This world is noisy and screaming for our attention. But I can’t even attempt to walk and live in it if I am not equipped fully before doing so. Spending time with Him in His Word and prayer sets my mind and heart properly first.
It’s such a simple thing really. Something we all should be doing without question, but so often this world drowns out what is most important. And the conversation with the Lord doesn’t end once the Bible is shut and I am off and running. It is continuous throughout the day. I need Him as much as I need the air I breathe.
