I am beyond excited to introduce you to our new website! A HUGE thank you to my husband at Farmhaus Studios for getting this off the ground seamlessly and quickly!
I love the fresh new look, and I must tell you that none of it is accidental. The picture we used for the header graphic comes from photos of my flowers in my meadow on the side of our property. As many of you know, we moved to our dream property almost two years ago, and every day feels like a dream. God is so good and I see just Him all over this place.
This is the time of year where it is in full bloom with wildflowers. My favorite color is yellow and the yellow flowers with the green background are just breathtaking. I can sit and stare at this meadow all day long. It just feels like a gift from my heavenly Father. So those flowers in the background of my header and bio shot are so dear to me!
I wanted to keep the look of this site clean and simple because, well, I am the simple girl! I didn’t want too much busyness or clutter. I think Steve achieved that quite well! I am giddy with excitement!
And with this new website comes a whole bunch more new and wonderful things!
First, a little background. Simply Living for Him was born six years ago when I didn’t even really know what a blog was. I thought it was going to be a little online journal to document our homeschool journey. Long story short, God had other things in mind. With that website has come abundant blessing– books, speaking engagements, and our very own retreat this summer! We have also moved to our little dream hobby farm and I love to share glimpses of life here at Love’s Farm. We use our little farm for ministry and it has been exciting to see God work.
I stand in awe at what God has done already and am excited to see what the future holds for this ministry. Yes, ministry. Simply Living for Him has always been my heart, and I have never treated it as a money making blog first. In fact, I started a completely separate blog a few years back, Bible Based Homeschooling, and that is where I accept advertising. I never wanted my words here to be skewed by ads or to be traffic- driven. God has, and will continue, to drive anyone to this site and its purpose will remain to reach others by sharing my message of living simply in a loud and distracting world. I trust God to provide all I need to keep this site going, and He has provided for this ministry time and again.
With this new site comes many more opportunities for me to reach people with my message. Most importantly I want to point people to live for Jesus. Simple living doesn’t have to look the same for everyone. It doesn’t necessarily mean minimalism or getting rid of all of your possessions or living on a farm or anything else. It simply is a heart seeking Jesus above all the distractions and noise this world offers.
I believe the remedy to chaos and clutter is Jesus. The more we desire Him, the less we desire of this world.
Like the old hymn says,
Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.
Amen?
I have lots of exciting things in the works. We are revising and updating my book, Called Home. More on that soon!

Blessings and Joy,
Karen
