What a morning. I awoke this morning to a note in my inbox from a reader stating that she thought my blog had been hacked. Sure enough, when I went to the site it was gone. GONE. I started to panic. All of my heart, my soul, my words. GONE. I was able to get in on the dashboard, but the site was an advertisement.
My heart sank. My ebook is due out in two days. I actually started to cry. I frantically started alerting my readers through facebook and posting on forums for help. (Might I say, I have the most supportive, wonderful readers ever…all immediately posting words of encouragement and sending up prayers.)
My mind flashed back to May, when I was speaking at the NJ State Homeschool convention and the week before I had a health scare. I was so distracted from the convention because of it. I could hardly prepare. I was under attack.
Then I remembered when I spoke about Letting God Lead Your Homeschool at a local homeschool group, and showed up at the wrong venue. With 45 minutes to spare. All along I knew the enemy was trying to derail me. I joked all the way to the correct venue…that I was darting those arrows.
Here we go again. I am trying to do something for the Lord with this new book, and BAM. Arrows. Being shot again.
Yet I was suddenly peaceful.
“It is just a blog. Just a blog. Maybe God wants me to stop writing. Maybe He wants to stop the book. And I am fine with that.
Your will be done….”
Truth is, this blog has always belonged to Him. I just do the typing. He is the reason I write. I want to glorify Him.
Then I fixed my eyes on Him, knowing full well if the blog was gone or not, I was fine.
I searched the internet and was starting to realize I was not in fact hacked-perhaps the domain expired.
Within minutes I found my domain had expired yesterday, and I was able to quickly renew it. Simple fix.
What could have derailed my efforts was truly another opportunity to rely fully on Him. Perfect timely for my new ebook coming out this Friday.
God is good.
ALL THE TIME.
~and for the record, I am really glad He has allowed me to continue writing here…and to simply live…for Him!
