Reposting this from the past. I am busy preparing for the ENOCH Convention this weekend- NJ’s State Homeschool Convention!
Be blessed dear friends….
The American Dream teaches us to live for ourselves. Earn more, get more, be more.
God’s Word teaches us to live for God first and then others. We are to humbly submit to Him. We are to look after the poor, the oppressed, the widow and the orphan.
And He doesn’t tell us to do these things after we are comfortable.
He just tells us to do them.
Success in America is a completely selfish success.
I want to be successful in Gods eyes.
I am praying that God will show me what He wants me to do with my life to be successful in His eyes.
I can spend a Saturday cleaning and organizing {stuff} around my home. But what one earth does that do for God? Or for others?
Its an empty life to live for yourself.
There is satisfaction in serving others, because that is what God created us to do.
There is emptiness in living for ourselves, that is why people keep looking for more, but never get filled.
I am in steadfast prayer for God to show me what I can do with my life to focus on others and serving others, and above all glorifying Him, in all!

Karen DeBeus is a homeschooling mom learning to live more simply and keep God at the center of it all. She is the author of three best-selling homeschooling books and writes at Simply Living for Him. She speaks nationally at homeschooling conventions and recently was a speaker at the Family Bible Conference in Washington, DC. Her passion is to help others clear the clutter from their lives, seek God first, and to encourage women and families to get in the Word every day.
In 2016, she founded the Simply Living for Him Retreat, which is a time of rest and renewal for all women seeking Jesus. She enjoys life on her hobby farm with her husband and four children. Together they are a work-at-home family pursuing a simple life with purpose and, above all, seeking to glorify God in all they do.
