This week have been Spring Cleaning our Insides {our hearts.} Two books that we have used in our read aloud time have been just wonderful.
The first one had me in tears half way through, and some pages I could barely read between my tears. The kids were looking at me with astonished looks, but it was just so beautiful and heart warming. It is called The Oak Inside the Acorn (Novel)
The story is all about an acorn that doesn’t want to leave it’s mommy, the Oak tree. Yet, she tells him it is time for him to go and be the tree God wants him to be. The story then goes through the little acorn’s adventure as he grows into an oak tree.
We discussed how Jesus was born for a purpose, lived for a purpose, and died for a purpose. And ultimately rose again for all of us.
We talked about how God has a purpose for all of us.
My goal in homeschooling is to guide my children to be the person God created them to be.
Next we read The Tale of Three Trees: A Traditional Folktale.
This is one of my all-time favorites. Again, the theme is purpose for our lives and being who God created us to be. The story is about three trees who dream of doing something big-ultimately they do. Read it to find out just how beautiful it is.
I am feeling so humbled as we enter this time of remembering Jesus’ death, that He died for little ‘ol me. That His purposes mean so much for me. I can do nothing but let my life be an offering to Him, as we anticipate that beautiful Sunday morning when He will RISE!
