What better way to get a boy’s mind going, than giving him a bunch of old parts, broken electronics, pieces, and odds and ends in a box….and instructing him to invent something!
An Invention Box!
I set some rules:
- Only use what is in the box.
- Nothing else!
Immediately, son #1 found every reason to need to use things not in the box.
Son:”I need scissors!”
Me:”Nope you’ll have to find a way without. You may only use the items in the box.”
My other son, quite the opposite-immediately began dismantling things to find useful parts.
Ahhh…the life of boys. It is a wonderful thing!
