I marvel at how God created us in His image.
In His Image!
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him;
male and female he created them.
Genesis 1:27
Last night I put my “baby” down to sleep for the last time as a two year old, today he woke up as a three year old.
As I stood there last night, knowing this was his last night as a toddler, I stared at him. Only those feelings a mama knows….watching him sleep.
marveling.
I marvel at so many things about my kids. How God created them. I stare at that sleeping mouth, lips pursed, and I see so many things…
how those lips nursed early on, how those lips laugh at everything, how those lips sulk when they don’t get their way…
and I see the future in that face…this baby is growing into a child, and later an adult…
past, present, future.…right there in those lips.
I stare at those little ears, and remember noticing how every single tiny fuzz that covered those newborns ears, were created by Him…
Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Luke 12:7
I marvel at the feelings that rise in me, not just the inborn protection from a mama feeling…all animals have that instinct….but we were created higher than animals…
and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” Genesis 1:26
We have that love you can not put into words. Where you marvel at the sight of your little one.
It’s more than the animal instinct of protection.
It is love, emotions, feelings…
That’s how you know God. We have those feelings that well up. The enormous love for our children.
Because we were created in HIS IMAGE.
and just imagine…
That is how HE feels about us.
He is our Father,
our Creator,
our Protector,
that is truly worth marveling at.
