Today was one of those days, those days you wish happened everyday. Where everything fell into place, and where you see God’s hand in it all.
What a refresher, after spending most of the afternoon yesterday in bed and not feeling well. Today I felt better, Praise the Lord, and it was a good day.
So I am appreciating the simple blessings of today…knowing how quickly all can change tomorrow-things don’t go as planned, attitudes need adjusting, and messes are made…
But for today, I am grateful for-
Praying with a friend- My dear friend and I have decided to pray together over the phone during the week. We pray in the early afternoon, and just like when the kids and I start our day with Bible time, I can see how necessary this time is. To stop in the middle of the day, focus on God, and fellowship with my sister in Christ is a huge boost in my day.
Afterwards, we finished up our afternoon school work and my attitude was adjusted, I was cheerful, and I was motivated. It made such a difference. I highly recommend trying this with a trusted friend….
“For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.” Matthew 18:20
Children working together-I have said it time and again, but combining subjects for all ages is a huge homeschool help. However, it also has many benefits for the kids. Today we did history, science, and geography together. It was fun to watch the kids do map work together, finding things together, and teaching each other. Grace was helping her younger brothers and teaching them to find distance with the scale. They were looking to her for help. It is a skill that I think is invaluable. Working together with people of all ages-the older helping the younger.
Birthday fun-Today was Grace’s 10th birthday and we celebrated all day long. We sang “Happy Birthday”, “This is the Day”, and her brothers baked birthday brownies.
How often do we wallow in the bad days, the tiredness, the headaches, the disorder…
I know I do…
But when we have those good days…
wallow in THEM.
It makes it all worthwhile…
” Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus”. – 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
