We are studying the Revolutionary War and Thirteen Colonies. It is great! We’ve read some great books the past few days. Today we read about George Washington’s crossing the Delaware River. It is really exciting to the kids, and I can’t wait to go visit the Washington Crossing Historic Park, which is located not far from where we live.
After we read, we looked at the famous artwork of Washington’s crossing. Then the kids made their own paintings. We also wrote out a list of the thirteen colonies and made some flags from the period.
All in all, it was another great history lesson.
